Fabric from Curlyrip becomes a bag

Beginner quilter Maura purchased some fabric here from my stash last weekend just to do some beginner patchwork and yesterday she dropped by to show me the result.  It is a super first project and looks great thanks for dropping by for show and tell and keep sewing up a storm Maura.

Another Mother a Daughter Workshop

Last Monday Anke and her daughter took up the challenge to make their own quankie in one 6 hour workshop using one of my specially designed kits in their chosen colourways of blue/ purple and blues/turquoise  - we stopped for lunch downstairs in the Gourmet Parlour just to keep our energy up !

Both Anke and Tessa added their own unique twist to the design by making their own block each to add to the quilt.  It was full on fun and Anke and Tessa used their exceptional embroidery skills to add that extra punch to their individual quilts.  They were a pleasure to work with and have to say it was a real achievement finishing off the complete quilt in one session- well done you two !!

Gift Monster Kits order

An order for gift monster kits packaged and ready to go !  It has taken a while but finally settled on packaging for the gift monster kits after all the humming and hawing it is both functional and yet simple- there is nothing like the impetus of a deadline to focus the mind.

Happy Accident Wonky Sunshine Block

Ever since viewing a this tutorial on Freshly Pieced blog been wanting to give it a go but much to my consternation when I pieced all the rays together it became a buckled up mess  ... so there was nothing for it but to slash and burn !!! After cutting randomly from the edges still could not get it to sit straight that's when I discovered oops ! forgotten to sew one of the rays in ... a ray short that was the source of my mess.  But happy to say that all is now well with the world and it turned out so nice decided to design a little quilt around the block above is the work in progress and  happy accidents do happen afterall !
